Why You Don't See Names Here
Most review sites lead with a personality. We don't, and the reason is deliberate. The site's founder is a 22-year U.S. military veteran — injured in service, anonymous by choice — and that decision sets the standard for the entire team. The work has to stand on the methodology, not on a face.
Anonymity for us is an accountability mechanism, not a hiding place. You cannot evaluate our reviews by checking who wrote them; you have to evaluate the criteria, the scoring, and the disclosures. We think that's the right pressure to put on a security review. If a recommendation only holds up because someone you trust said it, that's not a review — that's a celebrity endorsement.
Who We Are, Collectively
We publish under two bylines:
- Silent Security Research Team — primary writers and product evaluators.
- Silent Security Editorial Team — review, fact-check, and final-publish authority.
The team has working backgrounds in military intelligence and operations, defensive cybersecurity, consumer technology, and physical security and life-safety equipment. We are not a collection of generalists; people work on the categories where their experience is real.

How We Test & Score
Every review on this site is produced against our published methodology — the same seven scoring criteria for every product in a category. Every score, every recommendation, every comparison comes out of that process. If you want to verify what we say, the methodology is the place to start.
How We Make Money — Honestly
We earn affiliate commissions when readers buy products we recommend through Amazon Associates and a small number of partner networks. That's it. No display advertising. No sponsored posts. No paid product placements. No vendor-funded "round-ups." We do not take money in exchange for a ranking, a mention, or favorable phrasing. If a brand asks, the answer is no, and the email gets deleted.
